Meet the plumber
Hi, I’m Lleyton, drainage specialist
I'm Lleyton, the owner and licensed plumber behind Rose Plumbing. I've been in the trade for over seven years and I started this business because I wanted to give Newcastle locals a plumber they could actually rely on — someone who turns up when he says he will, does the job properly and doesn't dress it up in jargon.
Every job gets the same care, big or small. I'll explain what's going on in plain English, give you a clear price up front and leave your place tidy. I work across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter, and most of my work comes from repeat customers and word of mouth — which is exactly how I like it.

Drainage services
Clear and inspect sewer and stormwater drains
A blockage, a broken line and a flooded lawn need different fixes. We start with the symptoms and inspect the relevant part of the drainage system so the proposed work addresses the cause rather than repeatedly clearing the same problem.
Blocked drains
Sinks, showers, toilets, sewer and stormwater lines cleared with the right equipment — then camera-checked so you know what caused it.
CCTV drain inspections
A camera down the line shows us roots, cracks, bellies and collapses before any digging starts. You see exactly what we see.
Stormwater lines & downpipes
New stormwater lines sized and graded for a proper Newcastle downpour, and downpipes reconnected so roof water has somewhere to go.
Stormwater pits & grates
Grated surface pits, silt pits, junction pits and strip drains installed where water actually pools, plus repairs to cracked or sunken pits.

Drainage services
Drainage designed for your home and yard
Surface drains collect runoff, while AG and French drains collect water in the soil. We can combine these with stormwater lines and pits, checking falls and a legal discharge point before installation and reinstatement.
AG drains & subsoil drainage
Slotted pipe, geotextile sock and clean aggregate set out with the right fall — the fix for lawns that stay soggy for days after rain.
French drains
Gravel trench and slotted pipe drainage for soggy lawns, garden beds and behind retaining walls, built so it doesn't silt up and fail.
Backyard flooding & wet yards
We work out where the water comes from — roof run-off, neighbour run-off, poor fall or a failed line — and give it somewhere to go.
Collapsed & damaged pipes
Failed sections of PVC or old terracotta located, excavated and replaced properly, not patched over.

FAQs
Questions we get asked
Which type of drainage do I actually need?
That's the right question to ask. Surface water sitting on top of the lawn usually needs pits, grated drains or regraded lines. Water soaking in from below needs AG or subsoil drainage. We assess the yard and quote the right fix, not the biggest one.
Can you handle the whole job?
Yes — from the first camera inspection and design through excavation, installation, connection to a legal discharge point and reinstatement of the lawn or garden.
Why does my drain keep blocking?
Repeat blockages almost always mean a structural problem — roots, a crack or a sag in the pipe. Clearing it again without a camera inspection is money spent treating the symptom.
Do you work on both sewer and stormwater?
Yes, both. They're separate systems and we're licensed across the two — sewer blockages are urgent, stormwater design is where the long-term fix usually lies.
How messy is drainage work?
There's excavation involved for new drains, but trenches are backfilled and the area tidied as part of the job. Inspections and blockage clearing involve little to no digging.
